Getting Started
-
Becoming an RVFix member is simple. Just visit our Plans & Pricing page, choose the membership option that best fits your needs, and complete your signup online. If you’d prefer, you can also call or text us at 208-278-8320 and we’d be happy to walk you through activating your membership! No complicated contracts. No waiting period. Just fast access to certified RV technicians when you need them.
-
An RVFix Tech Call is a live video call with a certified RV technician who walks you step-by-step through diagnosing (and 40% of the time, fixing) your issue right from your campsite, driveway, or storage lot.
Here’s how it works:
1. We connect over video.
One of our technicians will call you and send you a secure link to join the video call on your smartphone. You’ll use your camera to show the technician what’s happening with your RV.
2. We diagnose the issue together.
Your technician will ask questions, have you show specific components, take measurements if needed, and gather part numbers or photos. About 40% of issues are fully resolved during this first call, meaning no shop visit, no parts ordered, and no extra fees!
3. We create a clear repair plan.
If the issue can’t be fixed instantly, we’ll narrow down the root cause and outline the fastest path forward. That could mean:
● Shipping parts directly to you
● Scheduling a mobile technician
● Coordinating with a partnered service center
● Submitting warranty documentation (for eligible members)
Most calls take around 30–60 minutes, depending on the issue. And if you’re a member, you can call as often as you need, whether something is broken or you just want expert guidance.
-
When you sign up, your membership is activated immediately, meaning you can start using RVFix right away. In fact, you can start using RVFix on a call-by-call basis before signing up for a membership, but you will miss out on exclusive membership benefits. More information on our different membership options can be found on our Plans & Pricing page.
-
Your RVFix membership is tied to the VIN of your RV, not to you personally. So, while your family members cannot use your membership to repair their own RV, they can use your membership to call in your place.
However, repairs need to be approved by the owner of the RV. So, while others can call for your RV with questions they may have, they won’t be able to do any repairs without your approval.
Membership and Pricing
-
RVFix offers straightforward pricing with two main ways to get access to our expert RV tech support: Membership plans and Per-call pricing
We have two membership plan options so you can have the best fit for what you need. The first option is our Annual RVFix membership. It normally costs $49.99/month or $499/year, but right now, you can get an Annual RVFix membership for just $39.99/month (or $399 a year if you choose to prepay for your year, saving you $80 a year.)
The second membership option is the Season pass, which gives you many of the benefits of an annual membership, including unlimited tech calls, April through October. This option (usually $399/year) currently only costs $299 a year, and is a great option for those who only use their RV in those peak camping season months.
If you choose our per-call option, you don’t have to sign up for anything. You can pay $99 for a single Tech Call on demand. This is perfect if you need help just once or want to try us out before joining. However, you do miss out on all the additional member benefits.
-
No, RVFix is a repair service separate from your warranty. In discussing warranties, there are two different kinds: The manufacturer warranty, and an extended warranty.
Your manufacturer warranty comes included with your RV and is issued by the manufacturer to cover defects in materials or workmanship.
An extended warranty is technically a service contract that extends coverage after the manufacturer warranty expires, specifically covering certain mechanical or structural failures with exclusions, deductibles, and claim approval requirements.
RVFix does not decide what is and isn’t covered under your warranty, and our services are not covered under any warranties. We are an accelerated diagnostic, repair, and support service.
However, we do submit warranty approvals for our members, and fight for your repairs to be covered as much as possible!
-
If you do not want an RVFix membership or season pass, you do not need any credit card on file. We’ll send you an invoice after your tech call that you can pay the one time.
If you do sign up for a membership, you will be required to put a credit card on file so your renewal can go through without any issues. We will notify you a month before your renewal so there are no surprise charges!
-
RVFix memberships are a one-year commitment. You can cancel at any time, and your membership will stay active through the rest of your membership year. After that, it simply won’t renew.
We do have a policy of doing a quick call before processing your cancelation, purely so we can learn more about your reason for cancelation so we can continue to improve our service for all of our members. For full details, see our Membership Cancelation Policy.
What can RVFix help with?
-
If it’s RV-related, we’re here to help you with it! That includes electrical issues, slide-out problems, plumbing issues, winterizing/de-winterizing, appliances, routine maintenance, and even general questions about your RV systems! Don’t hesitate to reach out! We don’t mind! We want to help you with any questions you have and ensure you have a great camping experience.
See a list of some of the things we can help with on our “What RVFix Solves” Page!
-
Of course! Anyone can call into RVFix, member or not. However, there are certain things we can only do for our members. One big one is warranty work. If you did not buy from Bish’s RV or are not an RVFix Member, we are unable to help you process your warranty.
Many RV manufacturers operate under something called a Basic Trade Area (BTA) agreement. These agreements are designed to protect the selling dealer by giving them the first opportunity to perform warranty repairs. In many cases, this means warranty work must first be routed through:
● The original selling dealer
● A sister location of the selling dealer
● Or an authorized dealer in the designated trade area
Because of these manufacturer agreements, we’re unable to process warranty claims for customers who are not RVFix members or did not purchase their camper from Bish’s RV.
That said, we will still help you diagnose issues, provide repair guidance, and help you understand your options. Our goal is always to help you get back to camping as quickly as possible.
-
Yes! Whether your RV is broken, you just need help learning a system in your RV, you’re having trouble setting something up, you’re doing routine maintenance, or you just have a question you’d like expert help with, we are here to help with absolutely anything we can. And if you have an RVFix membership, you have unlimited calls, so there is really no reason not to call when you have a question!
-
You should call RVFix anytime you have a question, concern, or issue with your RV — whether something is broken or not.
Here are some of the most common times RV owners call:
● When something stops working (A/C, slide-out, water heater, electrical, etc.)
● When something feels “off” and they’re not sure why
● Before a camping trip for a virtual pre-trip inspection
● When winterizing or de-winterizing
● During routine maintenance or inspections
● When they can’t remember how a system works and would like a walkthrough
If you’re wondering whether you should call or not, the answer is usually yes. Especially if you’re an RVFix member. Unlimited calls mean there’s no downside to getting expert guidance before a small issue becomes a big one.
What RVFix is Not
-
RVFix is not roadside assistance. Roadside assistance is designed for emergencies like blowouts, towing, dead batteries, or lockouts. They dispatch trucks and provide immediate physical help on the side of the road.
RVFix provides live video tech support with certified RV technicians who can help diagnose and fix RV issues.
If you’re broken down on the interstate and need a tow truck, roadside assistance is the right call. If your furnace won’t ignite, your slide won’t extend, your fridge isn’t cooling, or something broke and you can’t tell what went wrong, RVFix is the fastest way to get real answers and a clear repair plan.
Not sure what type of help you need? Give us a call, we’ll never turn you away. If roadside assistance is what you really need, we’ll help point you in the right direction.
-
RVFix can diagnose and help coordinate most RV repairs, however there are a few things that we don’t handle directly.
Roadside Emergencies - We don’t dispatch tow trucks or emergency roadside crews. If you need roadside assistance, we can help point you in the right direction, but our mobile technician network does not currently include roadside assistance professionals.
Chassis or Engine Repairs – We focus on the “house” side of the RV, like plumbing, electrical, appliances, slides, leveling systems, etc. Engine, transmission, drivetrain, and tire issues are usually handled by mechanics, often through your manufacturer. Again, we won’t turn you away if you call for an issue with your chassis or engine. We’ll help point you in the right direction to get your repair done fast.
Dangerous Repairs – If your repair involves a high safety risk, like disconnecting propane lines or major structural work, we won’t walk you through that over a tech call. In those cases, we’ll gather all the info we need for your repair over a video call, and we’ll help coordinate either a mobile technician or service center to complete the repair.
Warranty Approval Decisions – We unfortunately do not get to decide what is covered under your manufacturer or extended warranty. However, for RVFix members, we do gather documentation and submit warranty requests to fight for your repair to be covered. Our goal is to be your advocate.
Long answer short, while there are certain things that RVFix cannot do, the one thing we’ll never do is leave you stranded with no idea what to do. We’ll always do our best to help point you in the right direction so you can know what your next best step is.
What to expect during an RVFix call
-
The duration of a tech call depends on the issue, but on average, they last 30 to 60 minutes. A simple problem can be solved in less than 10 minutes, but if the issue is bigger and needs measurements, part numbers, pictures and documents for warranty, etc. then it will add to the length of the call.
-
The short answer is, it’s totally up to you!
We resolve 40% of issues during the first tech call. Those are pretty much always fixes that don’t require any additional parts, aside from some that RVers would likely have on hand already, like a fuse.
For the other 60%, who performs the repair will always depend on the severity of the issue. For example, there are some issues that can only be resolved with specialized equipment in a service center, and there are some issues that we won’t walk people through over the phone because they’re too dangerous (like repairs where you need to disconnect a gas line).
But in the case of a repair that could be done by yourself, we leave it up to you on how you want to proceed. We can either send the part directly to you and have a follow up call to guide you through installation, we can send a mobile technician to wherever you are and they can fix the issue, or we can schedule you with the nearest partnered service center. We will never force you to repair something on your own.
It is worth noting that many choose to perform repairs on their own to avoid the additional cost of mobile technicians or service center labor.
-
For your initial call, you don’t need anything!
If we determine a virtual call with a certified technician is the best path for your repair, we’ll help walk you through everything you’ll need to be prepared for that video call!
A few of those things can include:
● Downloading the SightCall app on your mobile device (we’ll send you a link to it)
● Power to your RV and enough space to extend your slide outs
● Tools depending on your issue (multimeter, screwdriver, tape measure, ladder, etc.)
● Important documents (insurance information, service contracts, recall paperwork, etc.)Want to learn more? Check out this video.
-
There are a few different ways to do it!
You can schedule a call online in minutes by following this link to our online scheduler. You’ll be asked about the problem you’re experiencing, some general questions about your RV and contact information, and then you’ll be able to choose an available time that works best for you, then we’ll reach out to you at that time!
If you’d rather talk to someone, you can call us at 844-667-8349 or text us at 208-278-8320 and we can help you schedule your call to help you get your RV fixed in the fastest way possible!
Mobile Repairs
-
We wish we could fix 100% of problems over your first call, but unfortunately, there are just some repairs that require further diagnosis, new parts, or professional repair. One of the options we offer for these repairs is mobile service. We can send a mobile technician straight to you, armed with the information from our tech call and any necessary parts ready to install, so that your repair goes quickly and smoothly!
-
If you choose to have a mobile technician sent to you to fulfill your repair, there are fulfillment charges associated with the technician. There is a base trip charge that mobile technicians require in order to make the trip out to wherever you are. The average trip charge cost is $190. They then have an hourly rate that averages around $230/hr.
If you have an RVFix membership, you do receive $30/hr off that hourly rate. We also help RVFix members get their warranties approved for the repair, which helps cover a portion of that labor rate depending on your warranty.
-
Our nationwide mobile technician network is extensive, and it is growing every day. Most of the time that someone needs a mobile tech, we are able to get one to them. However, depending on how far from civilization you’re camping, it may take some additional time for the mobile tech to arrive.
If your issue cannot be resolved over the tech call and there is no mobile technician available nearby in a timetable that works for you, we can often provide a temporary solution that will allow you to get mobile again so you can enjoy the rest of your camping trip, and we can schedule your repair for when you’ll be closer to a service center, or until a mobile technician can get to you. We will not leave you stranded without a plan for your repair.
Service Centers
-
During your tech call, we gather photos, measurements, part numbers, and detailed notes about your problem. This eliminates the typical “drop it off and wait for diagnosis” phase. If parts are needed, we work to get them ordered early, and for RVFix members, we also help submit warranty approvals before your RV arrives at the shop.
Then, we work with you to choose a partnered service center near you, and together we decide on a date for you to drop off your RV. We then share all of the information we gathered from our tech call with that service center so they are ready to get started with the repair as soon as your RV arrives.
Our goal is simple: if your RV has to go to a shop, we make sure it gets in and out as fast as possible.
-
That’s totally okay! Anyone can become a member of RVFix, and we can help you no matter where you bought your RV. One of the biggest differences of buying your RV from Bish’s RV or not is that if you buy from Bish’s RV, you receive a free year of RVFix with your purchase. If you buy somewhere else, you simply don’t receive the free year.
Another difference has to do with warranty routing. Many RV manufacturers operate under a basic trade area agreement that makes it so warranty work must be routed through the original selling dealer, a sister location of that dealer, or an authorized dealer in that designated trade area.
If you didn’t purchase from Bish’s RV, there may be limitations on how we can process warranty claims on your behalf due to those manufacturer agreements.
-
Yes! We reserve the nearest service time slots for members of RVFix, so that we can help our members as fast as possible. Those who schedule service without a membership will still definitely get serviced, but they will be further out on the time line to allow room for our members.
Hours and Availability
-
Our operating hours change depending on the time of year: During the camping season (April 1 - October 31), RVFix is open every day of the week from 5am to 10pm. In the off-season (November 1 - March 30), our standard hours are from 7am to 7pm all week long. (All times in Mountain Standard Time.)
-
RVFix is open on the weekends and most holidays. We do close around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s to preserve family time for our employees. However, we do remain open during peak camping holidays, like Memorial Day, Labor Day, and the Fourth of July. Though, keep in mind that those are very high call volume days for us, so if you call during one of those holiday weekends, you may experience longer than normal wait times.
-
We encourage it! We value your time, and if you’re out camping, we don’t want you to spend your time waiting on the phone. We do everything we can to lower our wait times as much as possible, one way we do that is through our callback system. You can join a queue and we will get back to you as fast as possible.
You can also choose an alternative communication method to avoid waiting on hold on the phone. You can text us at 208-278-8320, email us at help@rvfix.com, or chat with us through the zoom chat function here on our website! Whichever method you choose, we will reach out to you as soon as we can to help you fast track your RV repair and get your questions answered.
Value & Peace of Mind
-
If you prefer to just call when you need help and pay on a per-call basis, that is completely okay. There are some RVers for whom that is best! That’s why we offer it as an option. However, we’ve found that many RVers who choose not to become members try everything they can to avoid calling, as they want to avoid a charge. This often leads to frustrating scrolling through forums, mistaken diagnoses, and an overall negative experience.
With a membership, you don’t have to waste time trying to figure things out on your own, as there is no reason not to call! Not to mention, we can only submit warranty work for our members. Together with priority scheduling, discounted parts and labor, and annual inspections and winterizations, there are many benefits that you would miss out on without a membership.
-
It depends on how you use it, but many RV owners save hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars with RVFix. One of the biggest reasons is that 40% of issues are solved during the first tech call, meaning no service center visit, no diagnostic labor, and no parts to order.
For example, Chris, a real RVFix customer in his first year of RV ownership, called RVFix 22 times during the year. Some calls were for repairs, some were for questions, and some were for guidance while installing upgrades on his RV. Instead of paying a service enter for those repairs and installations, Chris worked through them with our certified techs during tech calls.
Based on typical RV service labor rates, we estimate that he saved over $2,000 in labor costs alone. And that’s not even considering the time that he saved by avoiding weeks of waiting at a service center.
For many RV owners, one avoided service-center visit or shortened repair can pay for the entire membership.
-
We actually love YouTube and RV forums. In fact, we run our own RVFix YouTube channel where we share tips, how-to videos, and RV troubleshooting advice. Those resources are incredibly helpful for learning about RV systems and seeing how other owners solve common problems.
The difference is that YouTube and forums provide general advice, while RVFix provides expert help for your specific RV and your specific problem.
When you search online, you’re usually starting with a guess. You might think the issue is your water pump, but without proper diagnosis, it’s easy to go down the wrong path. That can lead to wasted time, unnecessary parts, or even bigger problems.
With RVFix, you’re connected directly with a certified RV technician who can see your unit during a live Tech Call. They know exactly where to look, what questions to ask, and how your systems work together. Instead of guessing through videos or forum posts, you get a real diagnosis and a clear plan to fix the issue.
-
It’s totally up to you! Many RV owners find RVFix to be extremely valuable, even if they rarely need repairs.
RVFix isn’t just for when something breaks. Many members use it for things like pre-trip inspections, routine maintenance walkthroughs, and learning how their RV systems work.
If your RV never has issues, and you don’t plan on taking advantage of unlimited calls to keep your RV in tip-top shape, then an RVFix membership may not be right for you! Feel free to save our number in your phone so you know who to call when a problem eventually pops up.
That said, even one issue per year can make the savings add up quickly. We’ve heard plenty of stories of RV owners spending hundreds of dollars on parts trying to fix something like a refrigerator, only to discover the real problem was something simple like the RV wasn’t level. A quick call with a certified technician could have saved a lot of time, money, and frustration.
Ultimately, whether an RVFix membership is worth it comes down to personal preference. But we do know this: most RV owners can easily get far more value out of their membership than what they pay for it.
Trust and Confidence
-
Technicians at RVFix are certified through the RV Technical Institute (RVTI), the RV industry’s leading training and certification program.
But certification is only part of the story. On average, RVFix technicians bring around 20 years of real-world RV service experience to every Tech Call. That means when you call RVFix, you’re speaking with someone who has spent decades diagnosing and repairing RV systems.
Because of that depth of experience, there are very few RV problems our team hasn’t seen before.
-
Even if the first solution doesn’t fully resolve the issue, the information gathered during the call helps narrow down the cause and speeds up the rest of the repair process. We gather pictures and documentation that allow the service center or mobile technician to spend less time diagnosing, and more time fixing your problem.
The call also allows us to order any parts we have confirmed you’ll need, and submit any warranty approvals we can, speeding you your repair considerably.
We can’t always guarantee a full fix on your first call, but that call is vital to getting your RV fixed as quickly and smoothly as possible.
Emergency & High-stress situations
-
In many cases, yes! Most RVFix Tech Calls are scheduled the same day or the next day, depending on call volume and when you reach out. If you’re near your RV and ready to troubleshoot, we’ll do our best to get your connected with a technician as quickly as possible.
Once you’re on the call, about 40% of issues are solved right then and there, meaning you can often get your RV working again without waiting for a service appointment.
Keep in mind that our busiest times are typically Mondays and major camping holidays like Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day. During those periods, scheduling may take a little longer, but we still work hard to get you help as quickly as we can.
If your RV problem can’t be solved instantly, the Tech Call still helps move your repair forward by diagnosing the issue and preparing the next steps, whether that’s parts, mobile service, or a service center visit.
-
It depends on the situation.
If your emergency involves an RV system problem — like your slide won’t retract, your power suddenly stopped working, your furnace won’t ignite, or your water system is leaking — RVFix can often help right away by getting you on a Tech Call with a certified technician to diagnose the issue and work toward a solution.
In many cases, problems like these can even be fixed during the call, helping you avoid a ruined camping trip.
However, RVFix is not roadside assistance. If you’re dealing with things like a blown tire, towing, a vehicle breakdown, or another roadside emergency, you’ll need to contact a roadside assistance provider.
If you’re not sure what type of help you need, you can still call RVFix. We’ll help you figure out what’s going on and point you in the right direction so you can get the help you need as quickly as possible.
Warranty, Insurance, & Dealerships
-
RVFix doesn’t decide what is or isn’t covered under your warranty. That decision is always made by the warranty provider or manufacturer. However, RVFix can help move the warranty process forward much faster.
During your Tech Call, our technician gathers the information that warranty providers typically require, such as photos, measurements, part numbers, and diagnostic notes.
For RVFix members, we can help submit this warranty documentation and coordinate the process so your repair can move forward sooner.
While we can’t guarantee what a warranty company will approve, our goal is to prepare everything correctly from the start, so the approval process goes as smoothly and quickly as possible.
-
Yes! Similar to how we help with warranty, our insurance and collision team helps submit claims to your insurance company through virtual estimates with your tech call. However, unlike warranty processing, we are able to help you with this whether you are an RVFix member or not!
Once the claim is approved, we can then order all of the parts to get everything fixed up. These claims range from blown tires and rodents chewing wires, to wind, hail, and tree damage!
-
Yes, definitely!
Anyone who bought their RV from Bish’s RV receives a free one-year membership with their purchase, but anyone can become an RVFix member, regardless of where they bought their RV.
The only difference you may notice relates to warranty routing. Because many manufacturers use something called a Basic Trade Area (BTA) agreement, warranty repairs are often routed through the original selling dealer or an authorized dealer in that area. That can sometimes affect how warranty claims are handled.
-
That’s actually one of the situations RVFix was built for!
Many RV owners travel far from the dealership where they purchased their RV, which can make it difficult to get help when something goes wrong. With RVFix, your location doesn’t matter! You can connect with a certified RV technician wherever you are.
Even if you’re thousands of miles from the dealership where you bought your RV, RVFix helps you get answers quickly and move your repair forward without starting from scratch.
Technology and Privacy
-
You can call, text, email, or chat with RVFix without downloading anything. If we determine that a Tech Call is the best way to diagnose your issue, we’ll send you a link to download the SightCall app on your mobile device so the technician can see your RV and guide you through the troubleshooting process. We’ll walk you through exactly how to download it.
-
Tech Calls may be recorded for training and quality-assurance purposes.
Recording helps our team review repairs, improve our troubleshooting process, and make sure we’re giving RV owners the best possible guidance. It can also help us reference details from the call if additional troubleshooting or follow-up is needed later.
These recordings are used internally by the RVFix team and are handled responsibly as part of improving the service experience.
-
Any photos, videos, or documents you share with RVFix are used to help diagnose and coordinate your repair.
During a Tech Call, technicians may ask for pictures, measurements, part numbers, or other documentation. This information helps us order the correct parts and prepare warranty or repair documentation if needed.
These files are then kept within the RVFix system as part of your repair record so our team can reference them if follow-up troubleshooting or additional coordination is required. They will be used to support your repair process and help us get your RV fixed as quickly and accurately as possible.
Parts Ordering
-
Yes, RVFix can absolutely help you order the parts you need!
During your Tech Call, our technician will help diagnose the issue and identify the correct replacement part. That often involves locating part numbers, taking measurements, or confirming the exact component your RV requires.
Once we’ve confirmed what’s needed, we can help order the part and have it shipped directly to you or coordinate it with a mobile technician or service center if someone else will be performing the repair.
For RVFix members, parts and accessories also come with a 10% discount, helping reduce the overall cost of your repair.
-
We certainly can if that is what you’d like!
If you plan to install the part yourself, we can also schedule a follow-up Tech Call to walk you through the installation step-by-step. And if you’d rather not do the repair yourself, we can coordinate the part delivery with a mobile technician or service center so the repair goes smoothly.
-
That’s completely normal. Most RV owners don’t know the exact part they need, and that’s exactly what RVFix is here to help with.
During your Tech Call, a certified RV technician will help diagnose your problem and identify the correct part. That usually involves looking at the component over video, finding part numbers, taking measurements, or checking the model information for your specific RV.
Once we’ve confirmed the right part, we can help order it and ship it directly to you, or coordinate the repair with a mobile technician or service center if you prefer not to install it yourself.
-
It depends on the part and where it’s coming from.
Common RV parts can ship out quickly and arrive within a few days. Other parts, especially manufacturer-specific components, may take longer depending on availability and shipping distance.
During your Tech Call, we’ll identify the exact part you need and help you understand the expected delivery timeline before ordering. If the repair requires professional installation, we can also coordinate the part shipment with a mobile technician or service center so everything is ready when the repair happens.
International travel
-
Yes! In many cases you can still use RVFix even if you’re traveling outside the United States.
Because RVFix starts with a virtual Tech Call, your physical location isn’t a problem. As long as you have a phone signal or internet connection, our technicians can still help diagnose issues, walk you through troubleshooting, and help you understand the best way to fix the problem.
Keep in mind that some services, like coordinating mobile technicians, shipping parts, or routing warranty repairs, may be more limited depending on the country you’re in. However, our mobile technician network does include select parts of Canada, and we are always expanding!
Even when you’re traveling internationally, RVFix can still provide expert diagnosis and guidance to help you figure out what’s going on and what your next step should be.
